The celebrated artist Lai-Hsing Chen 陳來興
was born in Taiwan in 1949, and graduated from
National Arts School (now National Taiwan
University of Arts).  His work is found in many
distinguished galleries and collections all over the
world.  His compassion for the ordinary people
of Taiwan is reflected not only in the bold, strong
colors of his canvasses, but also in his
participation in Taiwan's social movement.
He is honoring the Whittier Art Gallery by
making it one of only three venues for his tour of
California.  Don't miss this once-in-a lifetime
opportunity to meet this significant figure in the
life of Taiwan and view his works!
